Following too closely. Give yourself at least a three-second gap from the car ahead, more in poor weather.
Forgetting mirror checks. Check your mirrors before every lane change, turn, and stop — not just occasionally.
Hesitating at junctions. Confidence comes from practice; when in doubt, wait for a clear gap rather than rushing.
Riding the clutch (manual cars). This wears down your clutch faster and can make your car harder to control.
