Intensive Course

Is an Intensive Course Right for You?

Intensive courses tend to suit learners who can commit to several consecutive days of lessons, are able to focus fully during that period, and ideally already have at least some driving experience or confidence behind the wheel. If you can only manage an hour here and there, or you're anxious and want to build up gradually, weekly lessons are usually a better fit — talk to us and we'll help you decide honestly, rather than just upsell the bigger course.

Areas Covered

We run intensive courses across Nottingham, Derby, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Ripley, Mansfield. See our full Areas We Cover page for details, or just get in touch if your area isn't listed.

Intensive Courses: Common Questions

What is an intensive (crash) driving course?

An intensive course packs your lessons into a short, focused period — often consecutive or near-consecutive days — instead of spreading them out over many weeks. The goal is faster progress and a test booked once you and your instructor agree you're genuinely ready, not a guaranteed pass on a fixed date.

Am I guaranteed to pass on an intensive course?

No reputable driving school can honestly guarantee a pass — your test is assessed independently by a DVSA examiner on the day. What an intensive course can genuinely offer is concentrated, consistent practice, which many learners find helps skills stick faster than a lesson once a week. We'll always be straightforward with you about how test-ready you actually are before booking your test.

Do I need any experience before starting an intensive course?

It helps, but it isn't always required — it depends on the course and how you get on in an initial lesson. Some complete beginners do well with an intensive format; others benefit from a handful of standard weekly lessons first to build basic car control before switching to an intensive block. Talk to us about your situation and we'll recommend honestly rather than just booking the biggest package.

Ready to Fast-Track Your Test?

Tell us your experience level and when you'd like to be test-ready — we'll let you know honestly whether an intensive course fits, and build a plan around it.
