What happens on a mock test
A mock test is run like the real DVSA practical test, so you know exactly what to expect on the day:
- An eyesight check and the “show me, tell me” vehicle safety questions
- Around 40 minutes of driving, including a section of independent driving
- A reversing manoeuvre, and possibly an emergency stop
- Your drive marked the way an examiner would, with driving, serious and dangerous faults
After the drive
You get a full debrief: what went well, what would have cost you the test, and what to practise before the real thing. A mock test is a practice run, not an official DVSA test, but it is one of the best ways to find out whether you are ready.
